Top Shelf Closet Design Award Winners Named

Winners of the 2012 CLOSETS Magazine Top Shelf Design Awards were announced at a gala reception held during the Closets & Home Organization Conference & Expo at the Austin
Susan Gelwicks Thompson of Colony Imports in Stuart, FL, (with CLOSETS magazine's Rich Christianson) was named Overall Winner in the juried Top Shelf Design Awards, for her "Caypso Palms' Laundry Room" project. Convention Center in Austin, TX.
Susan Gelwicks Thompson of Colony Imports in Stuart, FL, was named Overall Winner in the juried competition, for her "Caypso Palms' Laundry Room" project featuring a mundane laundry room transformed into a tropical oasis.
Also, this year’s Top Shelf Awards included a first: The People's Choice Award for top home organization project, voted upon through online balloting. Janet Stevenson of Closet City in Montgomeryville, PA, received the most votes for her project "Carol's Closet."
The competition also featured two new categories: Specialty Rooms (pantry, craft, wine, laundry, mudroom) and Professional Showrooms. Specialty Rooms received the most entries with the top prize in the category going to Thompson for "Caypso Palms' Laundry Room (also named Overall Winner).
Category winners received a Top Shelf Design Award trophy commemorating their winning entry and a copy of 20-20 Technologies design software. Honorable Mentions in each category received a certificate. All finalists are featued in a special section of CLOSETS Magazine to be published in the March/April 2012 issue.
